Foggy mornings are my favorite. It just feels like the world is full of possibilities, and you're waking up in to something amazing! I left for King Cole Circus three days ago. It was my first long (only 2hr) drive by myself with my beautiful new 5th Wheel trailer, a 33ft 2008 Forest River Cardinal. I named her Cardi, just for fun. I had purchased it about a month prior, left it in storage for 3 weeks, and then moved in with 5 days to spare before my journey started. As it turns out, my parent's community wasn't so receptive (read, was very rude and threatened legal action) to having my trailer in the street so I could load it up, so after the first day, I spent the rest of my time boondocking between three different Walmart parking lots. It was a crash-course in RV living with no power, no hookups, and no slides out. And I did just fine! Luckily, moving between the lots was actually a blessing in disguise, as it forced me to practice driving with the trailer. My amazing friend Dan (@danielisraeltv on Instagram) was very kind and patient with me, and spent an afternoon teaching me to back up and changing the battery for me. It's such a blessing to have knowledgeable and kind friends! So, I made it to Winter Quarters in Myakka City, FL my own, and then caravaned with my friend Bill another 4hrs to DeLand, FL where the show is set to open tonight. This will be my first go as a manager. Watching everyone set up the show, I think this is going to be harder for me mentally than I thought. I don't want to be sitting in front of computers all day, I was to be in the ring! But as Bill reminded me with a fun little custom keychain, it's only for 3 months! It's a learning experience for a short while, to learn a new side of the business I love so much! Though believe me, I'm going to be training my own skills as often as possible so I'm in tip-top shape when I do get back in the ring in the fall! Wish us a good season! :)
